Afghanistan's TOLO news agency reported citing the ministry, that the floods and rainfall also destroyed 140 homes and devastated 20 acres of agricultural land across 15 provinces.
“From 25 of April to now, due to rainfall and floods in the provinces of Kandahar, Nuristan, Badghis, Ghor, Nangarhar, Maidan Wardak, Herat, Samangan, Panjshir, Laghman, Kunar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Sar-e Pol, and Parwan, eight citizens have lost their lives, and three others have been injured,” said Janan Saiq, the spokesperson for the ministry.
Several victims in Nangarhar said that recent floods and rainfall have caused them significant financial loss.
The Meteorological Department of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation also reported the possibility of snowfall in high-altitude areas and 15 to 30 millimeters of rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and severe floods in 17 provinces.
